Branch members convert their CIM Dip to an MSc in Marketing
Tuesday, June 24th, 2008Some members will be aware that several universities offer a way of converting our postgrad CIM Diploma into a Masters degree. This recognition dates from the mid 90’s when the then CIM Director of Education, Norman Waite, persuaded several universities that CIM members were highly qualified and motivated professionals and ought to be given exemptions on relevant Masters programmes.
One of our members Sharon Wilding who recently rejoined the branch committee took up the MSc option with Glamorgan university and obtained her degree in just 12 months. “The study programme was an excellent way to complete an MSc while also working full-time. The two weekends were stimulating and it was great to meet up with fellow students”
Students need only attend two residential weekends with the rest of the work being done on line under the supervision of Glamorgan full-time lecturers. More than 450 students have gone through this programme since its inception and most of the weekends have been run at Moor Hall (although CIM has no connection with the programme other than as a conference venue).
Sharon says “The distance learning and support via online and phone worked very well - I would be happy to recommend this course, and any members who are interested should contact Frances of MDC Ltd – who organise the programme off-campus for Glamorgan university”
