Beer & Branding
Sunday, April 13th, 2008An entertaining evening was had by members of the Kent CIM at our recent Branch event on 21st November 2007 to the Shepherd Neame Brewery in Faversham. Although it was a cold night, our branch was treated to some warm, old fashioned hospitality by our superb host Charlie Holland (Marketing Manager, Shepherd Neame).
Charlie who has worked for Shepherd Neame since 2000 and is responsible for brands including Spitfire and Bishops Finger gave an informative presentation about the history of Shepherd Neame, its history, product development and brand strategy. He highlighted some of the more colourful advertising which have worked so well for the brewery and have become synonymous with the Shepherd Neame brand.
The presentation was followed by a tour of the brewery where we got to see the brewary in working action. This was then followed by a tutored beer tasting which will probably mean that all our members will now look at a glass of beer in a very different way. The event ended with a superb rustic buffet with produce supplied by only Kent companies. A superb evening and great value.
Thank you Shepherd Neame.
