New Chairman Elected At The Chartered Institute of Marketing’s AGM
Friday, January 25th, 2008At The Chartered Institute of Marketing’s AGM meeting, held at its Moor Hall offices last week, Chris Lenton was elected as The Institute’s new Chairman and takes up the two year role immediately. Chris will continue in his current role as a full time director of The Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators, the qualifying body for company secretaries, where he heads their Group Marketing function.
No stranger to The Chartered Institute of Marketing, Chris’s institutional career began with him assuming the role of Finance Director and Secretary of The Institute in the early nineties; where he went on to hold the posts of Commercial Director, Managing Director (CIM Holdings), Chief Operating Officer, and acting CEO on three occasions during his tenure. Chris left The Institute some five years ago to take up a series of non-executive directorships and was invited to become the Chairman of two companies; Immogenics a healthcare company dealing in blood analysis, and Hidden Differences Group (HDG) a software Company dealing web accessibility.
Chris’s career as a director has centred on strategic planning, marketing and corporate governance. Ethics and corporate social responsibility have played a key part in his business philosophy.
Chris has qualified as a Chartered marketer, Chartered Secretary and Chartered Certified Accountant. He began work for BCI Plc, a speciality chemical company in finance and mergers and acquisitions. His financial career continued with Motorola Inc in their IT business before moving into general management with Perkin Elmer Inc in their IT business.
